A young man from Bhopal recently faced a disturbing situation when he discovered a dead fly in his Khichdi, which he had ordered from Vrindavan Dhaba through the Swiggy app. Following the incident, the District Consumer Commission held the restaurant accountable and mandated a compensation of ₹15,130. The Commission asserted that the presence of a fly in the food exemplified the restaurant’s negligence, while Swiggy bore no responsibility for the incident.

A resident of Gautam Nagar, Bhopal, named Abhishek Dixit ordered Khichdi along with a lassi from Vrindavan Dhaba via Swiggy. Upon delivery, he was shocked to find a fly in the Khichdi. After reaching out to both the restaurant and Swiggy, he received no acknowledgment of the issue.

Dissatisfied with the response, Dixit escalated the matter to the District Consumer Commission. After a year of deliberation, the Commission, led by Chairman Yogesh Dutt Shukla and Member Dr. Pratibha Pandey, ruled in favor of Dixit and ordered the hotel to pay compensation.
