MP Love Jihad Case: A Woman Police Officer in Raisen District Becomes a Victim of Love Jihad
In Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh, a woman police officer was deceived by Ishtihaq, who posed as Aman Singh from Bhopal. He manipulated her into a romantic relationship and subsequently married her. Unfortunately, by the time she uncovered the truth behind this deceit, it was already too late. She filed a complaint at the police station in February 2025.
The woman reported the incident after enduring three months of pressure from her partner. The police arrested the accused amid a crackdown on groups involved in raping and blackmailing Hindu women in Bhopal. The woman claims she initially met Ishtihaq, who was masquerading as a constable, in 2019.

Ishtihaq Ahmed’s True Identity Revealed
The young man had introduced himself as a Hindu named ‘Aman’ and gradually proposed marriage, leading to a quick deepening of their bond. It was only a year later, in 2020, that the woman discovered his true identity when his real name appeared in official documents during a house registration.
Experiencing Mental Torture
Despite some initial conflicts, the woman made efforts to salvage her marriage. However, Ishtihaq’s behavior escalated to violence, subjecting her to physical and emotional abuse. She ultimately filed a complaint with the Mandideep police station on February 19, 2025, as the harassment intensified. Initially, her complaint was recorded as simple assault and harassment, but later, charges under the Religious Freedom Act were included.
Ishtihaq’s Café and Arrest
According to SP Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Ishtihaq Ahmed ran a café in the Jahangirabad area of Bhopal. He was arrested by police on a Friday, with charges filed against him for fraud, assault, and violations of the Madhya Pradesh Religious Freedom Act. The police are currently exploring all potential angles of the case.
Living Together for the Child
Aubedullaganj SDOP Sheela Surana indicated that the accused had been cohabiting with the SI and was involved in domestic violence. Even after his true identity was revealed, the woman chose to stay with him for the sake of their child. However, when the situation became intolerable, she decided to take action by filing her complaint.
