## Rajasthan Royals Gear Up for Pink Promise Day
Rajasthan Royals are set to don a pink jersey in their crucial IPL 2025 match against Mumbai Indians in Jaipur on Thursday. Led by Riyan Parag, the team is participating in the ‘Pink Promise’ day, an initiative they celebrate annually to promote women-led transformation in Rajasthan. The pink jersey serves as a symbol of support for this cause. During the match, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and chose to bowl first against an unchanged Mumbai Indians team.
Currently, Rajasthan Royals sit in seventh place on the points table and require victories in all their remaining matches to have a shot at the playoffs. However, facing Mumbai Indians, who are on a five-match winning streak, presents a significant challenge. A victory for MI on Thursday would enable them to overtake Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the top of the standings.
After winning the toss, Parag announced that Kartikeya and Madhwal would join the playing eleven due to Wanindu Hasaranga nursing a minor injury and Sandeep Sharma being ruled out for the remainder of the tournament because of a finger fracture.
Parag noted the potential for dew later in the match, indicating that the pitch tends to settle down as the night progresses. He emphasized the importance of keeping things simple, irrespective of the game’s outcome, and reiterated the team’s focus on taking it one match at a time. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to perform to their potential, aiming to give players the freedom to express themselves.
On the other hand, MI captain Hardik Pandya mentioned he would have also opted to bowl first at a venue where they have not secured a win since 2012. He emphasized the team’s focus on improving their game and maintaining a fearless attitude, avoiding the fear of failure. Pandya stated that while they had a target in mind, they needed to assess the pitch conditions before making decisions.
The Rajasthan Royals will wear a unique all-pink jersey for this match as part of the ‘Pink Promise’ initiative. For every match ticket sold and special jersey purchased, 100 rupees will be allocated to support women-led rural transformation in Rajasthan. Additionally, for every six runs hit by either team, six homes in the Sambhar region will be equipped with solar power.
