Gujarat Titans’ batsman Sai Sudharsan has broken Sachin Tendulkar’s record, becoming the quickest Indian cricketer to reach 2000 runs in T20 cricket. The left-handed player achieved this remarkable milestone during a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, scoring 48 runs off only 23 balls. Sudharsan was in excellent form, hitting 9 boundaries before being dismissed by Zeeshan Ansari. Shaun Marsh holds the record for the fastest to 2000 runs in T20 cricket with 53 innings, while the previous record belonged to the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who accomplished the feat in 59 innings.

In Match 51 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to bowl first against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday. So far this season, in the five matches played at this venue, no team has opted to bat first.
Sunrisers Hyderabad find themselves on the brink of elimination. A defeat tonight could see them join Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals as the third team to be knocked out of the tournament.
Captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Pat Cummins, commented, “We will bowl first. You never can predict the outcome. Sometimes, batting at night can be advantageous. We won our first game at CSK’s venue. We hope to continue this trend. If we win all our remaining matches, we still have a chance. As a team, we have not yet found our rhythm. However, we have performed better in the last couple of games. It’s the same team.”
The Titans, after starting strong with four consecutive victories and holding the top position in the standings, have recently faced a heavy defeat against the Rajasthan Royals. They have made one adjustment to their team, bringing in Gerald Coetzee to replace Karim Janat.
Gujarat Titans’ captain, Shubman Gill, stated, “We would have opted to bowl first as well. The pitch appears to be favorable. In our last match here against Mumbai, we also batted. This season has been quite good for us. We remain focused and treat each game individually. We have one change: Gerald comes in for Karim.”
