The competition for the IPL 2025 title is heating up, with numerous teams vying for victory. Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has expressed confidence that the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) could secure the championship this year.
Gavaskar has highlighted RCB as a formidable contender for the title, noting their impressive performance in the tournament. So far, RCB has emerged victorious in 7 out of 10 matches, making them a strong candidate as they aim for their first title. Additionally, the Mumbai Indians are also in the race for the championship.
In his comments, Gavaskar remarked, “Royal Challengers Bangalore has showcased excellent batting and fielding. While the Mumbai Indians are also competitive, they have only just begun to take the lead. The real challenge will be maintaining that momentum, especially with three tough matches ahead.”
Currently, RCB holds the third position in the points table with a net run rate that is favorable. Their upcoming matches include a clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 3, followed by games against Lucknow Super Giants on May 9, Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 13, and Kolkata Knight Riders on May 17.
