New Delhi. The Creta has proven to be the most successful model for Hyundai in the Indian market. This compact C-segment SUV has been the manufacturer’s top-selling vehicle for nearly ten years and continues to maintain its strong presence in the market. For the second month in a row, the Hyundai Creta has emerged as the best-selling passenger vehicle in the country, topping sales charts in both March and April.
In April of this year, Hyundai sold 17,016 units of the Creta nationwide, achieving an annual growth rate of 10.2 percent. In April 2024, the company reported 15,447 units sold, and in March 2025, the figure rose to 18,059 units delivered to dealerships. Over the first four months of 2025, Hyundai has manufactured a total of 69,914 Creta units in India.
70.9 percent of passenger vehicle volume
As a result of these sales, Hyundai’s SUV segment now constitutes 70.9 percent of its overall passenger vehicle sales. This success has also been bolstered by other models such as the Venue, Exceed, Alcazar, and Tucson. Since its initial launch in 2015, more than 1.2 million units of the Creta have been produced in India.
Commenting on this significant milestone, Tarun Garg, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), stated: “The sustained success of the Hyundai Creta in the Indian market reflects the trust and affection of Indian consumers. Being the best-selling car and leading in all segments for two consecutive months is a remarkable achievement.”
